This is no exception. Ensign Sato forms a telepathic bond with an alien that can offer Xindi information but only if she visits him in-person. At first he seems kind of cool. Turns out he’s a total creep. She wants to be let go, he loves her so he does, reluctantly. The Enterprise picks her up, they go on with their mission. He hooks them up with some helpful data.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">It progresses the season’s storyline but it’s real painful to sit through. Why couldn’t they give Sato an action packed episode where she fights her way through a mob of aliens to save a captured telepath she has feelings for? Because people might enjoy that episode and her character. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">TV writers can be stubborn to listen to fan complaints and Star Trek is one of the worst. They allowed Neelix to exist on Voyager. He’s truly the worst character ever created on TV ever. So why would they try to salvage or make Sato a character people like, or have an episode that’s actually enjoyable instead of a lame alien love story. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-65412965438096005882024-03-13T00:00:00.006-04:002024-03-13T10:44:46.370-04:00The DC Animated Universe Weekly Review - Batman: The Animated Series<p><span style="font-family: Cambria;">Batman: The Animated Series</span></p><p><span style="font-family: Cambria;">Episode 2</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Christmas with the Joker<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk9g6go7AurheBs8Pr7hXz9fTdi7M7wBA6Di6aZ5o0I96aR-c8luTjh1ZGKL0pWqbv887-1hSRQgaR7mBgKMGdsIvOXEpPuQHRCzvjhw-vXKLe9bXkIbSdDv-n3-FPQwdJDvzAMqRVg4gloB-pA1HoF156qIzXlM2UUF4tWYCdi5xbirB_T0J-j837FfNy/s1440/p183921_b_v8_aw.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk9g6go7AurheBs8Pr7hXz9fTdi7M7wBA6Di6aZ5o0I96aR-c8luTjh1ZGKL0pWqbv887-1hSRQgaR7mBgKMGdsIvOXEpPuQHRCzvjhw-vXKLe9bXkIbSdDv-n3-FPQwdJDvzAMqRVg4gloB-pA1HoF156qIzXlM2UUF4tWYCdi5xbirB_T0J-j837FfNy/s320/p183921_b_v8_aw.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">How do you follow-up the visually stunning On Leather Wings? You go strong on one of Batman’s biggest villains. The Joker escapes Arkham Asylum during the holiday season. Batman is obsessed with catching him and his sidekick Robin wants Batman to lighten up. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Here we meet The Joker voiced by what would become his second most iconic career performance, Mark Hamill. Hamill is the definitive Joker. Even if it’s just his voice, it far exceeds Jack Nicholson’s “interpretation” of the character. Nicholson’s joker was just a meaner version of Caesar Romero. Nicholson added some psychopathic tendencies and weird noises but ultimately it is just jack Nicholson playing the joker and not actually Joker. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbOpqZ9W3Qj_5rdYJt1dSkVBli8frLyhQJf1jTfXT5xkFTMVpwKR1z0R6YGkpCb3Rc4FXZ65zMsQFhrhcDXiLtdJgkrBID9V0SJE6rTJVim_HSA3Rbhe_cHXxsDLcNAhZloue8mlOQqJ7fDUItNhOwI-EGF_SAjzkChGwwdiSQ1xWCZs1AiERKIlavdpEC/s1200/Jack_Nicholson_As_The_Joker.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="951" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbOpqZ9W3Qj_5rdYJt1dSkVBli8frLyhQJf1jTfXT5xkFTMVpwKR1z0R6YGkpCb3Rc4FXZ65zMsQFhrhcDXiLtdJgkrBID9V0SJE6rTJVim_HSA3Rbhe_cHXxsDLcNAhZloue8mlOQqJ7fDUItNhOwI-EGF_SAjzkChGwwdiSQ1xWCZs1AiERKIlavdpEC/s320/Jack_Nicholson_As_The_Joker.jpg" width="254" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">When comparing other Joker performances post BtAS, Hamill is the go to source. One is left to wonder how brilliant Heath Ledger’s Joker would have been without Hamill’s voice work. Ledger’s is truly the best live-action incarnation. A unique, sadistic character, who lives for anarchy. Hamill’s Joker is the kid friendly crazy, has silly jokes, can be menacing, but since it’s a kid show, never really kills anyone. At his worst, he puts a permanent catatonic grin on a person’s face. That never ending smile is actually more cruel than just killing the person. Leave it the TV standard and practices to have rules that cause creative results which are far worse.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">We also get introduced to Robin for the first time in this episode. It’s a brilliant setup to the character. Robin is away at college and therefore will not be in every episode. The audience is basically told they will be treated to the occasional Robin appearance but this show is about Batman. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ZJia464K2KgESg0h_KlHXPYVNRBAYsVYjpmIg6iu1zeVs_wW9GuSOCUYLw0oH86zQPXdaVnxsSfBBFGAAow3upsJAfZE2aBErsL9Pyutl38cw7SL9ANno2ybob8cIRcANoVLCz5z15nWfuHMQNEvtFczqw6ac4DauPf6c2wb1eE6wezR-ND-taMiNSvT/s600/btas-christmas-with-the-joker-02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="338" data-original-width="600" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4ZJia464K2KgESg0h_KlHXPYVNRBAYsVYjpmIg6iu1zeVs_wW9GuSOCUYLw0oH86zQPXdaVnxsSfBBFGAAow3upsJAfZE2aBErsL9Pyutl38cw7SL9ANno2ybob8cIRcANoVLCz5z15nWfuHMQNEvtFczqw6ac4DauPf6c2wb1eE6wezR-ND-taMiNSvT/s320/btas-christmas-with-the-joker-02.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">What’s more interesting about this approach is the show is really more about Batman’s rogue gallery. As the series goes on there is a little character development about Batman but it’s more about how the villains grow around him. They either become more evil or fail at trying to do good. The one villain that never evolves in the series is The Joker which makes him more sadistic. He’s consistently evil and his goal is to make Batman’s life miserable. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">One of the few items which actually ages the show is its reference to It’s a Wonderful Life. A film which was on every channel five+ times a day during the Christmas season in the 1980s and 1990s due to a copyright issue. It caused the film to become a Christmas classic in that tenure and resulted in being mentioned in many Christmas shows through the 1990s. Since the copyright issue was cleared up, the film isn’t broadcasted as often during the holiday season and references make it appear dated.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV21lbabEW5A75zwDoymS_VbVFSr6BqbeZrZwKx19tIivzu_8yaGgeemVUWhqyQHrx5MlYEn8wYih5N6lm5qmBqqNxHJjHUXCi0NKIb4o25YkHBjuPw2YOrqx9hmRyX7bZqAyrPdNEmCAbM83FltoblUbvN3VBODolb_TWSp6uScQEWV37e0JjVzbmxPMb/s750/It%E2%80%99s-A-Wonderful-Life-750x400.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="750" height="171" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV21lbabEW5A75zwDoymS_VbVFSr6BqbeZrZwKx19tIivzu_8yaGgeemVUWhqyQHrx5MlYEn8wYih5N6lm5qmBqqNxHJjHUXCi0NKIb4o25YkHBjuPw2YOrqx9hmRyX7bZqAyrPdNEmCAbM83FltoblUbvN3VBODolb_TWSp6uScQEWV37e0JjVzbmxPMb/s320/It%E2%80%99s-A-Wonderful-Life-750x400.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">This actually leads us to the bigger visual look of the show. We didn’t discuss this in our intro article because there was just too much to cover but BtAS style is one of many unique choices which make it stand out. The Film Noir/Art Deco visuals make the show ageless. The characters aren’t trapped in the 1940s, it’s not a period piece. The show is supposed to take place in the 1990s. The style in Gotham City is the 1940s with access to contemporary technology (not counting the advanced tech used in specific episodes for story purposes). That’s a bold choice for a kids show. Would kids understand or appreciate this style? They did buy into it. But we have to go back to Tim Burton for his hybrid gothic/noir take on Batman which allowed for this. If Burton’s Batman failed we wouldn’t have these great undertones.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The creators were able to lean into the stylistic choices which worked in Burton’s Batman films and filter out the stuff that didn’t. So Art Deco and Film Noir are great style choices. Gothic style is not the right tone for children. Burton’s influence is riddled throughout the entire early run of the series. The creators were smart in what they chose to include and perhaps lucky that they were making a kids show which allowed them to cut the gothy items Burton uses in all his films. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBqz-atHXB5x54xJpiy2VWHNhm2ZaS8vdfNV0rtArQfluyP0VEpfnkbhi4LWVaHf4JExQMwgUZZIXYPu2U5vLNHr4RFRcObQW6YKXKVBm_iIuK25k3imvRySIVdN6TrfbtaRZCRK6hl3Qqo5bbhiBeTjDcLeL9E1Nlu9WCL_ITAn6NaSJjAhYa8Jg7B61v/s921/Batman_1989_(J._Sawyer)_-_Alexander_Knox_4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="921" data-original-width="600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBqz-atHXB5x54xJpiy2VWHNhm2ZaS8vdfNV0rtArQfluyP0VEpfnkbhi4LWVaHf4JExQMwgUZZIXYPu2U5vLNHr4RFRcObQW6YKXKVBm_iIuK25k3imvRySIVdN6TrfbtaRZCRK6hl3Qqo5bbhiBeTjDcLeL9E1Nlu9WCL_ITAn6NaSJjAhYa8Jg7B61v/s320/Batman_1989_(J._Sawyer)_-_Alexander_Knox_4.jpg" width="208" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Meanwhile in the episode, The Joker hijacks the airwaves with some kidnapped key cast members from the show. So in this episode the Enterprise comes across a bunch of Vulcans exposed to Trillium-D and they become zombies. Its actually a rather fun episode despite how absurd it is. Enterprise has enough components to make Trillium-D but cannot use it because it’ll mess up their resident Vulcan T’Pol. So the Enterprise has to wait on using it until Dr Phlox can make a vaccine or serum for T’Pol to avoid the poisonous affects. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">He never makes the vaccine and we find out she starts using it as a drug later on. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-66496482761074355672024-03-06T00:00:00.016-05:002024-03-06T22:37:42.065-05:00The DC Animated Universe Weekly Review - Batman: The Animated Series<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Batman: The Animated Series<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 1<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">On Leather Wings<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3CbAOg6chdMQ7sFzEbLikiSIuu0K_fnjy34v8C2IMfSDv106pmOdFvWZtB1wYbewKHlGuWc4hioQHL2338kmyFoZJl11gTtlCNZRnYkWwdUJ5jrcj1eaY2W1aSJp6ZhpcdAZGQ_GI7HatW1t4Xo5ZBaMHNbiIp1jBzASwW9EkZsgAJPXk4RRTyVt7sJGV/s1440/p183921_b_v8_aw.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3CbAOg6chdMQ7sFzEbLikiSIuu0K_fnjy34v8C2IMfSDv106pmOdFvWZtB1wYbewKHlGuWc4hioQHL2338kmyFoZJl11gTtlCNZRnYkWwdUJ5jrcj1eaY2W1aSJp6ZhpcdAZGQ_GI7HatW1t4Xo5ZBaMHNbiIp1jBzASwW9EkZsgAJPXk4RRTyVt7sJGV/s320/p183921_b_v8_aw.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The episode that kicks off the best animated show of all time (the best animated universe ever). The creators made certain to pull out all the stops for this series and make an impression. The first episode’s animation is by far the best in the entire universe. This is clearly a deliberate choice by the creators to sell the show to the studio, network, comic book publisher. There were a lot of eyes on this first episode and the think tanks needed to deliver. The quality is so far above anything in animated TV it rivaled Disney features at the time. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">When Man-Bat is flying in the air with Batman hanging by a rope behind him, it’s beyond impressive. The camera follows the movement through the entire sequence. The time and dedication to that type of children’s animation is unparalleled. The follow-up episodes were more constrained by time and budget, we really never get to see such vivid animation in the universe again. The follow-up episodes might not be as visually stunning, they’re still spectacular and do not affect the stories at all. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwF_sk66GVNvp_hbPRq23ovmdur-nZGplrkeSmVukVuwNFGfufg7o9gOrwPR0EMhQ8bdfiNlZoIZl4rvWpOU31X2l6k5RvSA7E-1PlKIws8q4AAyiyhyB1INIZv5tUvst8gnCOUPIdA_P939kBINg8SSIGijtnbL80y7DKFvq2FBmNuPciKII1jL8Zk800/s540/22.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="405" data-original-width="540" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwF_sk66GVNvp_hbPRq23ovmdur-nZGplrkeSmVukVuwNFGfufg7o9gOrwPR0EMhQ8bdfiNlZoIZl4rvWpOU31X2l6k5RvSA7E-1PlKIws8q4AAyiyhyB1INIZv5tUvst8gnCOUPIdA_P939kBINg8SSIGijtnbL80y7DKFvq2FBmNuPciKII1jL8Zk800/s320/22.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The episode involves a monster Man-Bat robbing pharmacies and almost everyone thinks it’s Batman. Batman sets out to clear his name and stop the robberies. We are introduced to key players in the series like Batman/Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, pre-Two Face Harvey Dent, Harvey Bullock, Mayor Hamilton Hill. It’s a nice intro to all the characters who will be hashed out in later episodes. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Batman discovers Kirk Langstrom took a serum that made him a monster. This lovely mutation gimmick will turn up multiple times throughout the DCAU. BtAS has a werewolf, Catwoman getting mutated into a cat, a man making a cat, a farmer making giant monsters, Batman Beyond has splicers, Justice League had Cheetah. Comic book TV shows like mutating people into animal/man creatures. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Additionally the episode established the different voice between Batman and Bruce Wayne. It’s truly a brilliant technique to differentiate the character. This gimmick dies out as the universe continues. It was likely easier for the voice actor Kevin Conroy to stick with one consistent style then dramatically switch voice tones. But the early episodes had two distinct voices and can be seen as a major influence in Christian Bale’s Batman/Bruce Wayne performance. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">When comparing this first episode to the prior animated super hero installments from the 1960s – 1980s this was monumental in story telling. It wasn’t some saccharin Hannah-Barbera watered downed story. Those old stories were filled with ridiculous cartoon clichés. Laser weapons because real guns aren’t allowed on children’s TV. Every time a plane gets shot down the parachute opens. A PSA at the end trying to educate kids on some lame lesson to tie the episode together. All of that TV trope garbage was scrapped in this series and On Leather Wings set that tone. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkk9WTjFcoUj4YSIPDf3D90RZK-y24fU2zpXPntqsYTDDDQ45AiHWlzPIO0yswWJEr38bdqGTg-53hL63Zsqr4CtDVERhO5j-zVw4qXACMFMSeHQnffrcAo1-2uW2EsWJAP_vQyyhK5_m9hoqQL2x-EqA3zNhCwLbfkGKUDPxgDYgVML7OkSTfzo0wcIv7/s1518/MV5BYTA3OGY2NjEtYmUxZS00ZGYxLTgxNzQtMGY0YzI0NDUwMWU1XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTE1NjY5Mg@@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1518" data-original-width="1000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkk9WTjFcoUj4YSIPDf3D90RZK-y24fU2zpXPntqsYTDDDQ45AiHWlzPIO0yswWJEr38bdqGTg-53hL63Zsqr4CtDVERhO5j-zVw4qXACMFMSeHQnffrcAo1-2uW2EsWJAP_vQyyhK5_m9hoqQL2x-EqA3zNhCwLbfkGKUDPxgDYgVML7OkSTfzo0wcIv7/s320/MV5BYTA3OGY2NjEtYmUxZS00ZGYxLTgxNzQtMGY0YzI0NDUwMWU1XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTE1NjY5Mg@@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg" width="211" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Batman: The Animated Series is certainly a show for kids but remains timeless because it didn’t talk down to them like its animated predecessors. Adults can easily watch this show. The fan base remains so strong because of how ageless and compelling the stories are. As the years went on, rewatches of other popular kid’s shows like He-Man, Transformers, GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Thundercats may invoke nostalgia but the episodes do not resonate as well since they were written for a certain age demographic and primarily made to sell toys. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Thanks is owed to Tim Burton’s Batman films. Burton’s Batman is highly praised by fans but in this web reviewer’s opinion, a bit over hyped. Without going into too much detail, Burton’s Batman lacked a coherent plot in the first film. Batman Returns was too gothic. What Burton did get right though, was he made Batman dark and that allowed the cartoon to be translated into something darker, something which resembled the comics. In the 13 years Hannah-Barbera produced their DC incarnation of Superfriends (1973 - 1986), they never dared to have the kind of story depth the DCAU tackles. It’s all thankfully summed up in this first episode. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbXZlubt0o9sHbK8QnBEI4pEiCCl-rfzhDDnpkeWIJzaIwa44HQqcvRMKIWbORff774_rWDeh1ZrU44ZTTiOETbpCAz41xQQxOmtH_gk_2EecXeexTMIlwXFtxn7OLioABGVJIR8xp5jn0_UbTdxV581aywvTsf7LJM3RqBFOsamhzw2f8dQkfAYbVR_qy/s992/01b-batman-on-the-run.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="744" data-original-width="992" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbXZlubt0o9sHbK8QnBEI4pEiCCl-rfzhDDnpkeWIJzaIwa44HQqcvRMKIWbORff774_rWDeh1ZrU44ZTTiOETbpCAz41xQQxOmtH_gk_2EecXeexTMIlwXFtxn7OLioABGVJIR8xp5jn0_UbTdxV581aywvTsf7LJM3RqBFOsamhzw2f8dQkfAYbVR_qy/s320/01b-batman-on-the-run.png" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Even the opening sequence uses a condensed version of Danny Elfman’s Batman theme. This Batman is telling its audience it’s connected to the films when it uses that music. As the series progresses Shirley Walker’s compositions take over and become the true music of the show. But Elfman’s music is clearly a heavy influence and help add to how epic the show truly is.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-85319256374282150162024-03-04T00:00:00.005-05:002024-03-04T00:00:00.137-05:00 Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 3<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 56 Rajiin<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiykPrl0nOnwqhBZN4Bj49ef7IyWmBr039IRxauRFPrJJbooyUEoVBUszG0rofiGyyX0Uas1vR4IF4wogDUiIxvXvd6mI1ZOxprakSODb3OeWSTxt4a9Ch5EeRqBVKpB8SCi2-qx6I1rLdIgReHD60BUVM1pDpfBFlviohllVtuzpXEQuiH04zbO2erng/s550/02c15b275848b3c103556e2ce7ce8ef1.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="550" height="175" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiykPrl0nOnwqhBZN4Bj49ef7IyWmBr039IRxauRFPrJJbooyUEoVBUszG0rofiGyyX0Uas1vR4IF4wogDUiIxvXvd6mI1ZOxprakSODb3OeWSTxt4a9Ch5EeRqBVKpB8SCi2-qx6I1rLdIgReHD60BUVM1pDpfBFlviohllVtuzpXEQuiH04zbO2erng/s320/02c15b275848b3c103556e2ce7ce8ef1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The enterprise buys a formula for Trillium-D from a merchant on an alien planet. We will encompass TV shows, tie-in films, and extended media we feel fits into the narrative of the universe. We’ll also be reviewing the shows/films in the best viewing order to truly enjoy the universe. You can find countless websites that list how to watch the shows in chronological time but that doesn’t have a satisfying narrative. Especially since the last episode chronologically is from The Zeta project and ends with an unresolved cliffhanger. Yes, there is Epilogue from Justice League Unlimited but to close out with that episode after all the Justice Unlimited story details that occurred before would also be unsatisfying. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">There are also lists on release/airing date, and production order. But that can still create narrative gaps. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Therefore this review will tackle the episodes in the order we feel they should be viewed. This isn’t a release order, or production order. It’s the best order to watch all the shows and films in the universe and capture the best narrative impact the creators intended for their stories. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">We’re not concerned about exact timelines with this episode order. So Batman: Mask of the Phantasm might fit perfectly between some random mid season episode, it really doesn’t affect the story or characters, so we’re not worrying about the exact date the episode falls on in the chronological time. The review follows all the characters and stories in a way that makes sense.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The view order is below. There are some unique choices that other fans wouldn’t agree with. We’ll detail the reasoning for those inclusions when that individual review comes up.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; We learn more about the Delphic Expanse which has weird anomalies. The crew gets robbed by some pirates and traces them back to a sphere which is generating some type of sci-fi mumbo jumbo energy. The get most of their supplies back.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Archer gets a little rough while interrogating one of the pirates. That’s still pending and the season is still very new.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Ultimately Enterprise gets another little snapshot into their Xindi enemy of the season. This episode is a little reminiscent of the Star Trek Voyager episode The Void where that team gets trapped in a weird anomaly but works with other aliens to eventually break free. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">This Enterprise episode is different enough that it can’t be called even a partial copy but it has the bones. A recurring issue with Enterprise was how the writers rehashed similar situations from the prior shows. Dusting off old scripts and giving them alternate outcomes is not the worst thing if it’s a compelling story but does lack originality. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-560298192364755432024-02-12T00:00:00.008-05:002024-02-12T00:00:00.250-05:00 Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 3<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 53 The Xindi<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi09cXrTzP3xw6OEyXjcrNw9C7OgHkv5NRbSHrdYvfKUAMaPqHTwTBhsAPe4twlQt55xI2O3xaXyvwLBSpoxoMrvEoIdjtiDfY5K6hNeOCmyZtWL0ibeRxCECn9W1iPLRgoiQ1Y9e8x_iwrPGMdcRyaWaT7mROz77s7Ti0Z1VhAH-OcJgV0HK1qXpjgHg/s302/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_3.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="302" data-original-width="241" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi09cXrTzP3xw6OEyXjcrNw9C7OgHkv5NRbSHrdYvfKUAMaPqHTwTBhsAPe4twlQt55xI2O3xaXyvwLBSpoxoMrvEoIdjtiDfY5K6hNeOCmyZtWL0ibeRxCECn9W1iPLRgoiQ1Y9e8x_iwrPGMdcRyaWaT7mROz77s7Ti0Z1VhAH-OcJgV0HK1qXpjgHg/s1600/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_3.jpg" width="241" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The season three premiere! The biggest misstep to ever happen on the show is the change in their theme song. It’s the same song but with an upbeat karaoke treatment. It’s sped up and has this annoying keyboard and drumbeat to it. It was one of the worst changes the show ever made<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">We meet the Xindi council of aliens who are aware the Earth ship Enterprise has entered their system and are debating if they need to be stopped. Basically, we meet the villains of the season. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Meanwhile, Enterprise is trying to track down those very Xindi who attacked earth killing millions and plan to destroy the entire planet. They cut a deal with a prison colony to speak with one of the Xindi prisoners then of course get double-crossed. We get to see the Military Assault Command Operations (MACOs) in action for the first time. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">MACOs are basically the space equivalent of marines. No other Star Trek show has ever shown a pure military based unit. Starfleet which is a type of space navy is still a mission of peaceful exploration. But since the United Federation of Planets doesn’t exists in this show, the idea of Earth having a military unit makes sense and makes some great action in later episodes.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The episode attempts to set the tone for the entire season. The Enterprise is alone in an uncharted and hostile area of space. Their goal is to stop the Xindi at any cost and also the early stages of Archer’s obsession with completing his mission. He doesn’t break any ethical rules in this episode but as the season goes on we’ll see him go to a dark place. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The episode itself is a little by-the-numbers but when crafting a season long story arc you have to position the pieces carefully and slowly to have a satisfying payoff by the end. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-59326370501672678262024-02-05T00:00:00.008-05:002024-02-05T00:00:00.154-05:00 Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 52 The Expanse<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s307/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="250" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s1600/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" width="250" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">This is the start of one of the most ambitious Star Trek seasons ever created. Enterprise is recalled to Earth after an alien race known as the Xindi attack it killing millions. The Xindi decided to attack earth because another faction in the show's main story arc, the Temporal Cold War, tells the Xindi, Earth will destroy their race. So Enterprise embarks on a mission to stop the Xindi from destroying Earth. The Enterprise enters the unexplored Delphic Expanse alone, in efforts to stop the Xindi from destroying Earth, no matter the cost. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">It’s the start of something big and different. This season 2 cliffhanger is taking the standalone episodes of season one and two and tossing them aside for an entire season story arc. At this point in time Enterprise was struggling in ratings and the creators had to do something different to shake things up and pull in viewers. So they decided to lean in full throttle on the Temporal Cold War. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Whether this new story telling approach worked will be addressed in later reviews. Season two ends with the promise Star Trek: Enterprise was going to bring something different than the standard episode of the week format. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-28858599163502750282024-01-29T00:00:00.005-05:002024-01-29T00:00:00.147-05:00Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 51 Bounty<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s307/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="250" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s1600/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" width="250" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Captain Archer is now wanted by the Klingons and bounty hunters are after him. It doesn’t really fit with the continuity of Star Trek but has some great action and shows Archer’s resolve as a military tactician. Flying around in space with phasers and torpedoes without using them aggressively on occasion limits the action. But a full on assault while trying to stop one of Star Trek’s most interesting bad guys was a breath of fresh air for the struggling show. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The Borg appearance ties in with the film Star Trek: First Contact and the time travel aspect helps alleviate some of the Star Trek story inconsistencies that may have been created. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The episode was seen as a gimmick to pull in fans who wandered away from the series. It is a shame because it was a great episode in it of itself. Also, season two was proving to be far superior to season one. But the show was struggling to find its footing with audiences and The Borg episode was their attempt to recapture the die-hard fans. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-52109331316117546722024-01-08T00:00:00.007-05:002024-01-08T00:00:00.164-05:00 Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise<p><span style="font-family: Cambria;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 48 Cogenitor<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s307/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="250" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s1600/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" width="250" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">This would have worked if it was a Star Trek: Voyager episode or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode. It’s just hard to believe Commander Tucker could be this naïve about alien interactions this late into season two. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Enterprise befriends the alien race Vissians. Archer becomes buddy buddy with their leader while Tucker becomes obsessed with this person called a Cogenitor who helps the aliens procreate. The aliens treat cogenitors as pets but Tucker is convinced they should have the same rights as the rest of the Vissans. Ultimately he tries to change the complete culture of an alien species, it doesn’t go over well for anyone, the cogenitor kills herself. Tucker gets ripped a new one by Archer for his error and pissing off an entire alien species. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Looking at it from an outside perspective the Vissans culture is total messed up and the cogenitors are sex slaves. Yes, they are needed to increase the population but they are treated as sub-par. When in fact they are the most important part of their species survival. It would have been nice to see Star Trek follow-up with this species generations later and see how Trip’s influence caused a revolt and saved these people. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Archer’s attitude ultimately was the right approach. It’s not their place to get involved with other people’s cultures. They’re just there to make friends. Sometimes that means not judging things that is very easy to make a judgment on. Those issues could theoretically work themselves out over the natural course of time. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-77149809888087388072024-01-01T00:00:00.007-05:002024-01-01T00:00:00.136-05:00Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise<p><span style="font-family: Cambria;"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 47 The Breach<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s307/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="250" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhIsUgvlDBkCm4ldXC14_BVpVebNXn82RB4HDEfaBAX1rpmbx0e2z0u-FO97VyjXsjHWSR_AUl88JYMR4iDKb7X1mBgKLnsNvDsM9LDF-lEepJlV1Q6RqHVudtWt6Yt8COPmUjUOHsaej0WfiZp4nT8t_LxgVXoa5O8aWEJP9b5Q9ha3wwd6pBRUkm0w/s1600/StarTrekEnterprise_Season_2.jpg" width="250" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">This episode isn’t terrible, it looks at physician ethics and the accountability of genocide. It’s similar to the episode Tribunal in Star Trek Deep Space Nine. But in this case Archer convinces the Klingon attorney to be a better lawyer. Even though Archer is found guilty and sentenced to life on Rura Penthe, he’s easily rescued. Best part of the episode is that Rura Penthe was the same prison Captain Kirk and Dr McCoy were sent to in Star Trek VI the Undiscovered country. It’s really the only thing that makes the episode worth watching. Otherwise it’s fairly by the numbers and predictable. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-22303135453490338692023-12-11T00:00:00.004-05:002023-12-11T00:00:00.141-05:00 Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 44 The Crossing<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3RaMEaQiraD3G42DVjSE5jP4eE5gkl_K5VajnyTnTaqrK8EE7xcanggLpt4XAP3Ggsp7lrWKiVd_tIV6s7ZFV268HtxdYDUEz69kUgkc9dtwSpxQkGLS2877M00asCbaFuEribTTphqdmcRw5A139LPiHLI3RNXLcMWw427K03oSItFVhM_ehWgCtFw/s475/powerplay2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="361" data-original-width="475" height="243" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3RaMEaQiraD3G42DVjSE5jP4eE5gkl_K5VajnyTnTaqrK8EE7xcanggLpt4XAP3Ggsp7lrWKiVd_tIV6s7ZFV268HtxdYDUEz69kUgkc9dtwSpxQkGLS2877M00asCbaFuEribTTphqdmcRw5A139LPiHLI3RNXLcMWw427K03oSItFVhM_ehWgCtFw/s320/powerplay2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Another, almost copycat episode. This Enterprise episode is similar to Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Power Play. On Enterprise a bunch of incorporeal aliens start possessing the crew and taking them over. They claim to be nice but really they’re jerks. On TNG a few of the crew get their bodies abducted by some jerk aliens who claim to be former federation souls who want to free their souls but it turns out they’re trying to escape a prison. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">While the Enterprise episode isn’t bad, it’s redundant. When countless shows tackle these problems and beat them to death, it’s not very exciting. The creators of Enterprise stated it ended before its time because of fan fatigue. But when creators keep rehashing episode gimmicks from its prior shows, what’s supposed to be a fresh take on the franchise becomes tiresome. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-45007290052639064892023-12-08T00:00:00.000-05:002023-12-08T00:00:00.143-05:00Avatar: The Way of Water<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ0ZStqsrJrLPkFRecA6WoFRS3ViElU-MGNqTStBSfPODobTCTHvkQG_SYQYwHvbIaL8PIq1naw9L50u-JLnzZHgc29KIEIbOcNaT0L-LEhePNvC-ke563yoqRfX_RxQ690Wj3cYG9RDoALTw10RfUbXHC7hQKYY-FT6rPYyHXOaO8rqH_Q1elEary2w/s1432/MV5BYjhiNjBlODctY2ZiOC00YjVlLWFlNzAtNTVhNzM1YjI1NzMxXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjQxNTE1MDA@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1432" data-original-width="1000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ0ZStqsrJrLPkFRecA6WoFRS3ViElU-MGNqTStBSfPODobTCTHvkQG_SYQYwHvbIaL8PIq1naw9L50u-JLnzZHgc29KIEIbOcNaT0L-LEhePNvC-ke563yoqRfX_RxQ690Wj3cYG9RDoALTw10RfUbXHC7hQKYY-FT6rPYyHXOaO8rqH_Q1elEary2w/s320/MV5BYjhiNjBlODctY2ZiOC00YjVlLWFlNzAtNTVhNzM1YjI1NzMxXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjQxNTE1MDA@._V1_FMjpg_UX1000_.jpg" width="223" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-family: Cambria;">This is a hard film to size up. I've always stated that James Cameron is the master of the sequel. His first feature film was Piranha II: The Spawning a film riddled with problems. Cameron was forbidden to edit the film so he broke into the editing room in Rome and cut his own version while the film's producers were at Cannes, he was caught though and the film was recut without his input. Decades later he would go on to say Piranha II is the best mutant killer Piranha film ever made. A claim that is difficult to disprove. That experience is probably what caused Cameron to be such a control freak on all future productions. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Speaking of strictly sequels in his career, Cameron went onto write Rambo: First Blood Part II, which has better action and a happier ending. It’s hard to go as far as to say Rambo II is better than the original First Blood which carried a more dramatic message but there were improvements from the first film to the second and the story wasn’t just a rehash of the original. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">He followed that with writing and directing the sequel to Alien called Aliens. Because what’s scarier than one space monster? Multiple space monsters. Cameron shows his depth of character development with this masterpiece. In a film characters have to start one way and be changed by the end. In TV they are never really supposed to change. George Costanza is always cheap and scheming, Jerry Seinfeld is always callous and uncaring. At the end of Alien the character of Ripley is the lone survivor of a horrifying ordeal, she carries that experience into the sequel. She goes back to the original planet of the Alien to confront her demons. Antics ensue, we learn what type of guy Paul Reiser really is. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqxAtkY6Ka8v1VIQHBygheBpx-4zDrI_OgaJH_yRlIYhgFBIw-BAgrdSik4Y_yC9j-yQtexoR8Dr_oWyjf_7OoPVPoiS6YtjUQ_BkC-2mUEFIzPpqwyPEol4fYKTSsQM7O6mBaZiShbDYYyf9kqXs8ZoNsBBfGbMgkQ9xMW-4CimChmCvJvpJtEXBr_w/s2880/fl2vzrd1esia1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2880" data-original-width="2160" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqxAtkY6Ka8v1VIQHBygheBpx-4zDrI_OgaJH_yRlIYhgFBIw-BAgrdSik4Y_yC9j-yQtexoR8Dr_oWyjf_7OoPVPoiS6YtjUQ_BkC-2mUEFIzPpqwyPEol4fYKTSsQM7O6mBaZiShbDYYyf9kqXs8ZoNsBBfGbMgkQ9xMW-4CimChmCvJvpJtEXBr_w/s320/fl2vzrd1esia1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">In 1991 we get the best action film ever made. Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The follow-up to Cameron’s 84 hit The Terminator. Another great sequel. In the original film we have Sarah Connor another female who survives a traumatic ordeal. Instead of remaking Aliens in early 90s California, he completely shifts the plot. Sarah is a side character in the film. John Connor and the T-800 are the main focus of this story. The plot is brilliant. Instead of just a survival story it becomes a story about changing your fate, family, overcoming tragedy. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Cameron understands that a film is supposed to be a story about a life-changing event in character’s life. From event the person is forever changed. When you go into the sequel, you have to show how those people have changed. Sarah Connor becomes an apocalyptic nut job. Her son doesn’t share that trauma with her, he can easily friend a killer robot from the future. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">In 2003 James Cameron makes the documentary Ghost of the Abyss. Many don’t see this as a sequel, just a documentary about Titanic. But when coming off the biggest money making film of all time, you can’t make a direct sequel about a real ship that sinks. Cameron figures out how to make a follow-up to the blockbuster by producing/directing a documentary about the actual Titanic. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy7qir0WQfAYQMCcHgn5XoA9dLggdB1GEj1zqygu0TLzpx7pzRGxyGByILYUxaMcRVVZ-sywqkGchu3Dc4PtSNts3SG4BmOodDwO_Go-aer9c_NRNyhpGBITdMhdDRENXgGUtL7esq7APt62TTaDRPhwHnXrIsgvf5GrJo965adw3GPd2fO3RqLoCosQ/s383/Ghosts_of_the_abyss.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="383" data-original-width="259" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgy7qir0WQfAYQMCcHgn5XoA9dLggdB1GEj1zqygu0TLzpx7pzRGxyGByILYUxaMcRVVZ-sywqkGchu3Dc4PtSNts3SG4BmOodDwO_Go-aer9c_NRNyhpGBITdMhdDRENXgGUtL7esq7APt62TTaDRPhwHnXrIsgvf5GrJo965adw3GPd2fO3RqLoCosQ/s320/Ghosts_of_the_abyss.jpg" width="216" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">In 2022 we get Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to Avatar, which after 13 years people have forgotten about. It’s as if Cameron realized people wouldn’t remember the first film so the sequel is almost a rehash of the first film. But it’s not an exact retelling of the first film like The Hangover 2. It makes enough changes for it to be interesting, then throws in a ton more characters. He lazily brings back the villain from the first film. From a writing standpoint it’s easier to bring back a familiar bad guy than create a new one. But at 3 hours and 15 minutes, he probably could have devoted time to making a new villain. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Is the story better than the first? No. Is it worse than the first? No. It’s certainly no Empire Strikes Back. Cameron has 2 more sequels planned. This film seemed like a long recap story of what is to come next. It’s almost as if the real Avatar 2 is actually going to be Avatar 3. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The film was certainly enjoyable to watch. The story felt like it was a hybrid of a ton of other stories that have been told before. The original Avatar felt like Dances of Wolves meets the Smurfs. This diversified its derivative story telling with the expanded cast. Sometimes you feel like you’re watching Jaws II with the kids stranding on the boat. Other times it feels like you’re watching Free Willy with the outcast kid befriending a whale. Then you have the original Avatar in there but instead of trying to mine a fuel source, they are killing whales for a brain fluid that stops the aging process. They just trade one McGuffin for another. It feels a little like Star Trek IV the Voyage Home. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEmPRx2Vd50EROH1dKy8c23K-qOWB9FAx6gRs4Xg-iOiPhU0Naovkqvc5qK-Q2H-JSLygiLZqNzn4V7llSDK9T6f3NlDthAfKWhFyt1WhFbPZyi1GCmMYgIxKWHZAGQWbNylUBNR0D6nxapleAYZAuDLXJ_ouhx6PJ0OYq9CB0hmLUeuc1jnTV9ARu2g/s2000/earth_day_006.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="2000" height="173" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEmPRx2Vd50EROH1dKy8c23K-qOWB9FAx6gRs4Xg-iOiPhU0Naovkqvc5qK-Q2H-JSLygiLZqNzn4V7llSDK9T6f3NlDthAfKWhFyt1WhFbPZyi1GCmMYgIxKWHZAGQWbNylUBNR0D6nxapleAYZAuDLXJ_ouhx6PJ0OYq9CB0hmLUeuc1jnTV9ARu2g/s320/earth_day_006.png" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Hollywood films are a ton of recycled ideas tossed in a blender with different genres, so there’s nothing wrong with the story formula. Why does Avatar 2 feel off? Perhaps it’s because if the over three hour runtime the audience doesn’t leave with a clear resolution. None of the characters appear to grow significantly; the bad guy isn’t truly defeated. It really is just one long story. Streaming and binge watching have made people more accustomed to long narratives; those shows are still episodic in nature. For a feature to try this is unusual. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Like many franchise films these days, the true value of this film may only be determined by its follow-ups. Star Wars: The Force Awakens may have been a more liked film if its successors were better. Since The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were less than stellar, The Force Awakens becomes the intro into a trilogy that people are lackluster about. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Does Avatar 2 stand on its own? It’s almost impossible to determine. James Cameron recycled every single trick he’s ever used in every other film he ever made to tell this new story. Look at the shots, story elements, special effects, actions, villains. You can pick any of those points out of the film and place them into one of Cameron’s prior works. Is that a testament to a brilliant filmmaker embracing his knowledge and style? Or is it someone who’s lost his touch as a genuine director who would bring us something new and original in each of his films? <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWTVJDxzF6K0OSUUzKlrOjP7uOJvH8XoRK9PufH0uZdHuD8X7cSHbDavUL45AU-ZHlOABp26CT1PX4YPNbsUJNQbbOIqPG6YD16-bxYgKhwXK9WWnhY-HCdHsH_F9-8PNiITDK84wECqEYZHTB7_4kaJ7ABsudkILrnldwc0QMJ8go0wLwtvt_3AZhXA/s1031/The-Who-Sell-Out-photo-by-David-Montgomery-e1619706545502.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="580" data-original-width="1031" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWTVJDxzF6K0OSUUzKlrOjP7uOJvH8XoRK9PufH0uZdHuD8X7cSHbDavUL45AU-ZHlOABp26CT1PX4YPNbsUJNQbbOIqPG6YD16-bxYgKhwXK9WWnhY-HCdHsH_F9-8PNiITDK84wECqEYZHTB7_4kaJ7ABsudkILrnldwc0QMJ8go0wLwtvt_3AZhXA/s320/The-Who-Sell-Out-photo-by-David-Montgomery-e1619706545502.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"></p><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span></div><span style="caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="background-color: white; font-size: 10pt;">Joseph Ammendolea</span></div><span style="background-color: white;"><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Owner/President</span></div></span><span style="background-color: white;"><div style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span></div></span></span><span style="caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><div style="text-align: right;"><a style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a></div></span><p></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-80021172836390492452023-12-04T00:00:00.009-05:002023-12-04T00:00:00.149-05:00Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 43 Canamar<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt9S_wov_jRQQWCwCDOV612q34FP7zel8Xz_FK7RfMmpJCpw0wob7kbAmpcCzfHQvK83rXCtiB43rSEWoLeL-G1jWlJm2zpQuQW_bJHXMtC0LZ1Pl1xXEXtgcUQs-ecBQUFnbF-7cjMqC6UhwYz9OYdypCEGfwAsltpbN4nlFpjumQmt10YCn0XC3zzA/s848/cbs_star_trek_tng_257_aa_6ch_30m_1337293_1928_1920x1080_1166932035533.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="477" data-original-width="848" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt9S_wov_jRQQWCwCDOV612q34FP7zel8Xz_FK7RfMmpJCpw0wob7kbAmpcCzfHQvK83rXCtiB43rSEWoLeL-G1jWlJm2zpQuQW_bJHXMtC0LZ1Pl1xXEXtgcUQs-ecBQUFnbF-7cjMqC6UhwYz9OYdypCEGfwAsltpbN4nlFpjumQmt10YCn0XC3zzA/s320/cbs_star_trek_tng_257_aa_6ch_30m_1337293_1928_1920x1080_1166932035533.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Captain Archer and Commander Tucker end up falsely arrested and on a prison freighter. Enterprise finds a derelict spaceship with dead human pilot and layers of mystery surrounding it. Just about every random alien in the galaxy starts attacking Enterprise trying to get the spaceship. It features the THOLIANS!!! Who were only ever seen in the Star Trek original series episode The Tholian Web. Any episode that connected Enterprise to the original series was always welcomed. It’s a huge mystery about why the ship is so important but it doesn’t matter because the action is was solid. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-46901264954665733792023-11-24T00:00:00.000-05:002023-11-24T00:00:00.148-05:002022 Eternal Con - Sailor Moon<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/un3F7Jx92w4" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1000 Hempstead Tpke, Hempstead, NY 11549, USA40.7166872 -73.599396512.406453363821157 -108.7556465 69.026921036178848 -38.4431465tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2653565532267567439.post-1962906372883716442023-11-20T00:00:00.007-05:002023-11-20T00:00:00.138-05:00Episode by Episode - Star Trek: Enterprise <p><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Season 2<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Episode 41 Cease Fire<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTnxhgtEFtksc2ODqRnRU2OFpsNUFmOCUMP7Q52213eezGO96W099do_E_dSs-4nEn5Wc-Er-1LuRXm50oDOMbfzVNms25iTb1wFlGvGScyDR75XfV_nWcyT_vFo8s2a3Bjd-QQqvwxHYINxm6Z_dnpGyb6hsQKX8qxGDHlgLcPCg28rugdVXN07NSMQ/s474/main-qimg-0c619f320c52cc7c236da35f91f75f1e-lq.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="379" data-original-width="474" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTnxhgtEFtksc2ODqRnRU2OFpsNUFmOCUMP7Q52213eezGO96W099do_E_dSs-4nEn5Wc-Er-1LuRXm50oDOMbfzVNms25iTb1wFlGvGScyDR75XfV_nWcyT_vFo8s2a3Bjd-QQqvwxHYINxm6Z_dnpGyb6hsQKX8qxGDHlgLcPCg28rugdVXN07NSMQ/s320/main-qimg-0c619f320c52cc7c236da35f91f75f1e-lq.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">ANDORIANS!!! The Vulcans and Andorians are at war and want Captain Archer to mediate a cease-fire. The action is great, Tucker acting as Captain is spot-on. It's a very odd show, it had a massive budget for televison. George Lucas wanted to create films for the small screen. The stories were meant to be epic. </span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKw1izgMMSfx_VPbJEWIiT6cr-INQ8udOyqI-cGGMeGKWFgKC_tGqENpNShOGn-JQuTlqgK3iNXDGWXsaQfgOHskviwU1HnwhWsF4Dz01or9fCxPFR0rjnZ4V4hMPm5yPhk1QJ5tC5Pb0JHtjHI3wVcjjAbkZuVWDvdjO6w5Wf0Gm0rpX6qZQALjPlxA/s220/The_Young_Indiana_Jones_Chronicles_(logo).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="129" data-original-width="220" height="129" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKw1izgMMSfx_VPbJEWIiT6cr-INQ8udOyqI-cGGMeGKWFgKC_tGqENpNShOGn-JQuTlqgK3iNXDGWXsaQfgOHskviwU1HnwhWsF4Dz01or9fCxPFR0rjnZ4V4hMPm5yPhk1QJ5tC5Pb0JHtjHI3wVcjjAbkZuVWDvdjO6w5Wf0Gm0rpX6qZQALjPlxA/s1600/The_Young_Indiana_Jones_Chronicles_(logo).png" width="220" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">River Phoenix declined to return to the role after his appearance in the Last Crusade. Sean Patrick Flannery stepped in as teenage Indy, Corry Carrier as child Indy, and George Hall as old Indy. Harrison Ford was offered the part of old Indy but turned it down because…he’s one of the biggest stars in Hollywood. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The original broadcasts originally had a bookend segment featuring Old Indy in modern day (the early 1990s) and then would cut to a flashback of this crazy old man yammering on about some adventure he had when he was a child or teenager. The broadcast versions jumped around in the timeline, much like the show This Is Us. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhip5-IBMRfYDQkyd3M3byOa5Og8awz_fQjkZ27dwqjsK-gmpNQfCQaVRjgsgiPFfO_Ts86L2WCIxIR1EqiahKSYgot15dEaIwdde2fNndxS0gtxydZ4SvkOtDFshIsVIfbdPbVj5pp3gLneYqsfyxs-b6UGoEx05sMbRElGFWD4aYOt_Ubt_FyorHrOw/s366/Indiana_Jones_(Harrison_Ford's_television_guest_appearance).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="366" data-original-width="257" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhip5-IBMRfYDQkyd3M3byOa5Og8awz_fQjkZ27dwqjsK-gmpNQfCQaVRjgsgiPFfO_Ts86L2WCIxIR1EqiahKSYgot15dEaIwdde2fNndxS0gtxydZ4SvkOtDFshIsVIfbdPbVj5pp3gLneYqsfyxs-b6UGoEx05sMbRElGFWD4aYOt_Ubt_FyorHrOw/s320/Indiana_Jones_(Harrison_Ford's_television_guest_appearance).jpg" width="225" /></a></div><br /><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The show’s huge budget and lack of ratings got it canceled after two seasons. After its cancelation four TV films were made in an attempt to rework the format into something sellable to other networks. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">YIJC wasn’t aired on a consistent date or time when originally broadcast which made it impossible to find its audience. Network decision errors aside, the problems with implementing the show are numerous. The Old Indy scenes are just painful to watch. Indiana Jones shouldn’t be some crazy old man wandering museums harassing kids about the time he went to Egypt and fought a mummy. The pacing of the stories are agonizing when trying to work around a television format. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The Young Indy stories are not fun or interesting. Indy as child growing up, nothing exciting happens to him. The stories aren’t compelling, have no action, no drama, no heart, no humor. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The Teenage Indy stories are better. But those don’t pick up until he runs away from home and starts meeting random famous people in history (eye roll). Sean Patrick Flannery does not bring the same flair to the character that River Phoenix brought in The Last Crusade but he does an adequate job. Crafting stories around an older character does help create more excitement and allows you put him in more adult scenarios. That doesn’t excuse the failure of Young Indy. He could have had his own level adventure. Lucas really lacked the vision of what could have been done. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaXax3mYaLEC2IfULRg3ELAjjZoSaeEOfzJRV-HUoH8u8hVQyJxJ9CDCDFTQYFH1ky5Q06CTyOU-lIDWJMIEUTg9SLaoXhinPaGWp1FOMX0Dd97AX3KYQoKmBy-6HhXFCgYMHQcEzq7lTXWlp-jHV8nSuAL6BR7GRWzLqXYq3q70Ou7ZiNSn4PV6JVjQ/s386/Sean_Patrick_Flanery,_The_Young_Indiana_Jones_Chronicles.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="386" data-original-width="257" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaXax3mYaLEC2IfULRg3ELAjjZoSaeEOfzJRV-HUoH8u8hVQyJxJ9CDCDFTQYFH1ky5Q06CTyOU-lIDWJMIEUTg9SLaoXhinPaGWp1FOMX0Dd97AX3KYQoKmBy-6HhXFCgYMHQcEzq7lTXWlp-jHV8nSuAL6BR7GRWzLqXYq3q70Ou7ZiNSn4PV6JVjQ/s320/Sean_Patrick_Flanery,_The_Young_Indiana_Jones_Chronicles.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">A modern issue with the show stems from how the stories were “retold.” Lucas reedited the entire show into mini movies in hopes of selling them into syndication and also on home video. The four TV films post cancellation were meant to entice network affiliates into buying the package. It’s a rather interesting endeavor and not crazy idea in relations to 1990s television. Ultimately it was a failure as the show wasn’t picked up. Lucas’ attempts to redefine the standard of television failed. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">In classic George Lucas fashion, he recuts the entire show with no care for what preceded it. The reedit cuts out all the Old Indy scenes which everyone hated. But ultimately helped fit a pacing for television that included suspenseful act breaks. Without the Old Indy scenes the episodes are left to stand on their own with no contexts. In the original format certain episode stories started with Young Indy and were resolved with Teen Indy. In the new format the viewer doesn’t get a resolution to certain stories until well later in the series chronology. The story telling becomes completely inconsistent. The Young Indy episodes are hurt most by these changes. The Teen Indy episodes had enough dramatic content on their own to survive these changes. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">The show has some exciting moments but overall is not very compelling. What’s supposed to be a story about how a young man grows into the larger than life character Indiana Jones lacks any real footing. It’s certainly worth watching but don’t feel guilty for fast-forwarding the boring parts because we all have lives to live.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhePfwy7P7aSmHUAX8z20sBwmFqhK19TYEEZMSit1i4oa3dr5Kk0GVGnoIQyw5Cec8PjJMCcigxHL_wNMEX0X6Bcl9wbplLFYDPwb0qwXMEQa319IiwLhEQn4qPdMks0G0LBH7SjNI7rNdN07hxzUuWqY-icFGH-f_hlWGHx-PipmzukeJuDsFiLuY53w/s367/Indiana_Jones_(George_Hall).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="367" data-original-width="272" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhePfwy7P7aSmHUAX8z20sBwmFqhK19TYEEZMSit1i4oa3dr5Kk0GVGnoIQyw5Cec8PjJMCcigxHL_wNMEX0X6Bcl9wbplLFYDPwb0qwXMEQa319IiwLhEQn4qPdMks0G0LBH7SjNI7rNdN07hxzUuWqY-icFGH-f_hlWGHx-PipmzukeJuDsFiLuY53w/s320/Indiana_Jones_(George_Hall).png" width="237" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">You have to give George Lucas for always trying to be innovative. He doesn’t just make a product. He pushes industry boundaries and is willing to fail in the process. Young Indiana Jones is Lucas’ attempt to keep a franchise alive while trying to increase the scale and quality of TV production. If you look at shows like Lost, Game of Thrones, Wanda Vision, The Mandalorian these are all fairly recent big budget television that have cropped up. Lucas was trying to set the bar higher in the 90s. He failed with YIJC but the idea resurged as technology evolved. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Also, the TV culture changed. Lost was a show which had an interactive fan community. Creators were looking at fan web boards and reading their theories and adjusting their stories based on that fan feedback. It was an almost interactive show which allowed them to adjust stories mid-season. The new streaming culture has high budgeted TV shows with less episodes per season. So instead of 20 – 26 episode seasons with some of the writing forced or phoned in to fit a production order. A viewer is given 8 – 12 quality episodes, character based, and story arc driven. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglZ2wIruYZ8PJrqWc1Eu3cVtxrMZbJOa4zbVHvf85PR8g9nnxB8dxZjTLX7ykyCDhM9VUuRqKy3NCtaDtialubAY8ngxf03bK2KRH4wYO9Dd-PIm65mTyl3gUoirl27BDx4gpxYyyH9r2JClgR4BPR_TtFA2p8RzCjdY00zzG-73xp_1z4NcpbJF135g/s383/Henry_'Indiana'_Jones,_Jr_(Corey_Carrier).png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="383" data-original-width="258" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglZ2wIruYZ8PJrqWc1Eu3cVtxrMZbJOa4zbVHvf85PR8g9nnxB8dxZjTLX7ykyCDhM9VUuRqKy3NCtaDtialubAY8ngxf03bK2KRH4wYO9Dd-PIm65mTyl3gUoirl27BDx4gpxYyyH9r2JClgR4BPR_TtFA2p8RzCjdY00zzG-73xp_1z4NcpbJF135g/s320/Henry_'Indiana'_Jones,_Jr_(Corey_Carrier).png" width="216" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;">Lucas understood TV needed to change but he just wasn’t sure how to implement that change. Ultimately his vision wasn’t the future of television but he did see the current format was eventually going to die out if it didn’t adapt. <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdv1B8o_U0cYXeJgog6YDEotbNfZ1sF7-XoJ-0xCXvoXKWxE7hxFEZNElGZgGnukRUrOC6CVk7PDScMhpTRpgsI-xDB-pYXM_yERk0Frn0dHHmdVWjSgiXZtLT3Sb_T03T-12frkFFVcbUJU0z7ZTzfIEwPaP_dqrupBepxuNqJH2ZmJ1syR_wtLRxGQ/s300/YIJopenlogo.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="207" data-original-width="300" height="207" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdv1B8o_U0cYXeJgog6YDEotbNfZ1sF7-XoJ-0xCXvoXKWxE7hxFEZNElGZgGnukRUrOC6CVk7PDScMhpTRpgsI-xDB-pYXM_yERk0Frn0dHHmdVWjSgiXZtLT3Sb_T03T-12frkFFVcbUJU0z7ZTzfIEwPaP_dqrupBepxuNqJH2ZmJ1syR_wtLRxGQ/s1600/YIJopenlogo.JPG" width="300" /></a></div><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><span style="background-color: white; caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Written by</span><span style="caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Joseph Ammendolea</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">Owner/President</span><br /><span style="background-color: white;">“I Like To Play With Toys” Productions®</span><br /></span><span style="caret-color: rgb(34, 34, 34); color: #222222; font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: 10pt;"><a><span style="color: #888888; font-family: Arial;">ILikeToPlayWithToysProductions@Yahoo.com</span></a></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: Cambria; margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;"><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
