Rollin' Greens to Host Exclusive Film Preview

Ammendolea thinking about his comedic inspirations.
Joseph Ammendolea is a former Bellerose resident who founded his company “I Like To Play With Toys” Productions® in the year 2000 at the age of 17.  Over the past 15 years he’s produced short films, music videos, and the occasional viral video.  In recent years he’s diversified his business by offering videography services, VHS to DVD conversions and syndicated news event coverage.

On April 25, 2015 Ammendolea will share his latest project with a select few of the Bellerose populace by hosting an exclusive preview of his feature film Dumped (  The former Bellerose native will be teaming up with Rollin Greens located at 247-77 Jericho Turnpike, Bellerose, NY 11426 to preview his film.

Rollin' Greens formerly Fiddlers Inn, formerly Kerrigans

Bellerose is no stranger to the Hollywood seen.  It’s been featured in both film and television such as Goodfellas, Sex and the City, and Run All Night.  What makes Dumped such a unique experience is that it was filmed and set in Bellerose. It’s the first feature film to take place in the Queens/Nassau town.

Dumped is produced, written, edited, & directed by Joseph Ammendolea and based on a true story about Tyler (StevenMakropoulos) who has just been dumped by his longtime girlfriend Jessica (Stephanie Tapoler). He tries to seek solace with his childhood friends George (Matthew Thomas) and Joe (David Burkard). But George has other plans and recruits the gang into a series of immature revenge schemes and shenanigans in the hopes of driving Jessica into his arms or an asylum.

It features the music talents of Craving Strange (, Midnight Mob (, Black Suit Youth (, Serica Ux (, The Fall '85 (, First Stage, Pindhurst Farms (, and Breakin' Hundred (

Local reaction to the news about the screening and film itself has been generally positive.  Steven Bari and executive at the Ray Bari Pizza chain as well as son of famous Ray Bari stated “I’m really excited about the film preview and hope I can attend.  I’ve seen Joe’s other work and it’s truly phenomenal stuff.”

Ray Bari Pizza is no stranger to film and television.  It was the official pizza of NBC's hit sitcom Friends.

Aziza Elgnaway, a personal friend of Ammendolea stated “It’s so exciting seeing how far he’s come.  He started out with this little camera and just some friends goofing around and has really grown into a sensational director.”  She went on to compliment his looks in great detail.  “He’s also really hot.  I love his beard.”

Not all the reviews have been optimistic though.  Miguel Monroy a resident of Queens Village said “I’ve seen his stuff.  It’s funny but he’s certainly not as talented as Kevin Smith or MichaelBay.”  When asked if he would attend Monroy replied “Maybe, but only because it’s at Rollin' Greens.  The last great bar in Bellerose.”

Whatever the case may be, on April 25, 2015 Hollywood will be coming to Bellerose and possibly staying for good. People interested in attending the event are asked to monitor the various social media for “I Like To Play With Toys” Productions® (, and Rollin Greens ( for information.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire Part 3

Let them eat cake.
The Faire is home to many yummy faire favorites such as Funnel Cake, Cheesesteaks, Turkey Legs, Soup in a Bread Bowl, Tiger Pies, Scotch Eggs, and Corned Beef.  Located throughout the faire, feeding the whole family isn’t always easy if tastes differ, but most food venues are located in one spot.  No matter what your palette, there is something for you.  A good investment for the frequently thirsty is a souvenir drinking vessel.  Depending on your drink of choice, be it soda, wine, beer, or sangria slushy, the commemorative drinking vessels come filled at initial purchase, and generally you receive a discount for all subsequent refills, depending on your beverage.

The best wine comes from a box.
The location of the Pennsylvania Rennaisance Faire, at the Mount Hope Estate and Winery, should divulge to the guests that alcohol is readily available to those of drinking age at the faire.  If you enjoy Beer, you must try some of the Swashbuckler Brewing Company handcrafted ales and lager.  The Swashbuckler Brewing Company uses locally grown products, and is a highlight of the unique offerings of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.  If you purchase

The Swashbuckliest Swashbuckler of them all.
Another highlight is the wine of the Mount Hope Estate and Winery, itself.  At one booth in the faire grounds you can taste many of the wines available, and may be pleasantly surprised but some of the wines offered.  The winery offers a variety of different fruit wines, including but not limited to Strawberry wine, Pear wine, Blueberry wine, etc., in addition to traditional wines such as Merlot.  No matter what you do, make sure you try their Mead.

Authentic Renn Faire drinks.
Two days reveling at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, at the Mount Hope Estate and Winery is not enough.  During each return trip, you are sure to see, hear, eat, or do something new. Maybe the first time you ride an elephant, the next you are lucky enough to see a Mermaid or two in the fountain, and the next you meet the Queen herself.  No matter how long your visit, always make sure you stay for the Finale at Song at the Globe Theatre.  During the last performance of the evening, you will be treated to a variety show, during which all the performers unite to entertain the King and Queen, and of course you.  If you missed an act throughout the day, there is a good chance you will get a taste during the Finale in Song, and you are always guaranteed some jokes regarding the theme of the weekend.  If you are lucky, maybe some incarnations of the Doctor, will randomly join in the celebration during Time Travelers weekend.

At the end of the day, the Faire is a great value for the amount of entertainment packed into one weekend, and a wonderful trip back in time.  If you aren’t close to Manheim, Pennsylvania, you are lucky - there are two hotels in walking distance of the faire. The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is one of the best Renaissance Faires, and one of the most professional.  Make a weekend of it, and go to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, running until October 26th.  If you would like more information on the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, please visit their website at
